On Saturday, November 15th, we had the privilege of hosting the Vernon Township National Art Honor Society Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser at Vernon Township High School, and it was an incredible day from start to finish.

Held inside the school cafeteria, the event brought together students, teachers, families, and community members for a fun and competitive afternoon, all while supporting a great cause.

The tournament featured a double elimination format, giving everyone multiple chances to compete while keeping the energy high throughout the day. From experienced players to first time throwers, the atmosphere was welcoming, competitive, and full of school spirit.

One of the highlights of the event was the incredible food provided by Maillard Food Truck, operated by Chef Mike Rizzo.

Mike previously served as a culinary teacher at Vernon before continuing his passion for food and education at OU BOCES. Since then, he has earned recognition as the 2025 Best Chef in the Hudson Valley, awarded through the Community Choice Awards. Having him return to Vernon for the event made the day even more special.

The fundraiser also featured:

  • A live DJ

  • 50/50 raffles

  • Prize raffles including art supplies, North Jersey Cornhole gear, and gift certificates to local businesses

  • Cash payouts and trophies for first and second place finishers

Most importantly, the funds raised from the tournament will help create scholarships to be awarded to students involved in the National Art Honor Society.

Events like this are exactly why we love what we do. Cornhole has a unique way of bringing people together, creating connections across different age groups and interests while supporting meaningful causes in the community.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, donated, organized, and helped make the event such a success.

Bringing people together one bag at a time.
