North Jersey Cornhole® Receives Federal Trademark Registration

First in the Game. First to the Name.

We are proud to announce that North Jersey Cornhole® is now a federally registered trademark of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

While receiving a trademark certificate may seem like a small milestone from the outside, for us it represents years of hard work, growth, and dedication to building something meaningful in our community.

North Jersey Cornhole started the same way many great stories do: with two friends tossing bags in the backyard.

What began as a casual hobby quickly became a passion. As our love for the game grew, so did our desire to compete at a higher level. We began traveling throughout New Jersey and beyond, often driving 45 minutes, an hour, or more just to find organized leagues and quality competition.

As North Jersey natives, we saw an opportunity.

Cornhole was thriving across the country, but there were few organized clubs, leagues, or tournaments serving our local communities. We knew there were players like us who wanted a place to compete, improve, and connect with others without having to travel long distances.

So we decided to build the club we wished existed.

In 2024, we began organizing local events, leagues, and tournaments throughout Northern New Jersey. What started as a handful of players quickly grew into a thriving community. Since then, we've partnered with local businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, athletic booster clubs, breweries, and community groups to host leagues, fundraisers, private events, and competitive tournaments.

Today, North Jersey Cornhole hosts events for players of all skill levels, from first-time throwers to seasoned competitors. We provide professional equipment, digital scoring, live tournament management, and an organized experience designed to make every event memorable.

As the club continued to grow, it became increasingly important to protect the identity and reputation we had worked so hard to establish.

The federal trademark registration of North Jersey Cornhole® is more than a legal designation. It is recognition of our commitment to the community we've built and the countless hours invested in creating a trusted name for cornhole in our region.

Being first matters.

Not because of ownership alone, but because of the work, consistency, and dedication required to turn an idea into something real.

This trademark represents every player who has attended an event, every local business that has partnered with us, every volunteer who has helped along the way, and every supporter who believed in what we were building.

We're incredibly grateful for the community that continues to grow around North Jersey Cornhole®.
